The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Edith Dry can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Dear Aunt Eddie

Dear Aunt Eddie, It has been a long time since I visited you or got to talk to you and I am sorry for that. What I will always remember is the times when we all were together at na-naws house in Havre de Grace. At Christmas the fur tree with the huge colored light bulbs. All of us at the dining room table. The strawberry patch in the back. The garden next door with the purple hydrangeas in the vacant lot. You sisters gabbing at the kitchen table while na-naw cooked the spaghetti and made the best sauce ever. Mom told of times when you and Carrie would sneak into your sisters room late at night and slip under the bed and poke the mattress and scare them. Your cream and turquoise metropolitan car when you worked at Howard Johnsons. Uncle Paulie the Maryland State policeman talking about someone shooting at him and hearing the bullet whizzing by his head. Uncle Sammy the forever sailor, USS Enterprise, gunner. The times you and sisters got the record player out and danced to polka music or that electrolysis contraption that aunt Lilly had. They will all greet you and welcome you to paradise. All of the family is together now. I really liked you and I’ll miss you as much as I miss my mom. Your loving nephew, Cookie
