The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Zelma Breen can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Christmas

Way back one Christmas, when I was about 10, my mother, Zelma's sister, was going through a very hard time with being a single parent all of a sudden.  While I was old enough to know about Santa, my brohter and sister were not.   My mother sat me down and explaned the only gift that year was a red wagon she was able to get with the S & H Green stamps she had collected and saved.  I still remember the hurt on her face.  A few days later, a knock on the door and there was a delievery man from Marvin's Department Store.  Gifts started pouring in.  The delivery man would not tell us who sent them.  As it turns out, that was the best Christmas.   It was my Aunt Zelma who made it happen.  When we asked Aunt Zelma about it, she would just laugh and say she didn't know anything.  My mom and I both knew she was responsible.  If you knew my aunt back then, you knew she loved Marvin's!  Zelma was a kind hearted woman who really tried to help others at no expense to her.  She will be deeply missed.
